Tony Robbins is an American author, coach, speaker, and philanthropist. He is known for his infomercials, seminars, and self-help books including the books Unlimited Power and Awaken the Giant Within. Tony Robbins often discusses the important of positive incantations first thing in the morning.

What are Incantations? Incantations are very similar to affirmations. However, there are some major differences. Affirmations are encouraging words spoken out loud without any physical activity attached. Incantations use both.

Incantations are about embodying the meaning behind the words, which is why they are so powerful. With incantations, not only are you speaking words of empowerment, you are using your body and your voice. You are changing your physiology and changing your state, leading to a different and more positive outlook and approach to each day.

For example, use the following positive incantation: “Money is abundant. I have the knowledge and resourcefulness to be able to make it to be able to support the lifestyle that I desire”. Sit down in a comfortable seated position and repeat this phrase to yourself. The goal is to deeply feel the truth in your statement, Do you believe it? Now come up with a positive incantation that resonates with you. Incorporate this into your routine and begin resonate with the frequency of your words and make them come to life!

Create A Morning Routine

A routine is a certain behavior, action or ritual that becomes a habit by performing it repeatedly and consistently. An effective morning routine depends on learning this habit and keeping it up. Having a morning routine can increase energy, productivity and positivity. Learning habits is easier than you think. An extremely effective method to do this is the ‘Habit Loop’, popularized by Charles Duhigg in his book ‘The Power of Habit’. Morning routines generate momentum! The more you do it – the easier it gets.

Tomorrow morning try the following: Wake up (immediately),  Drink water (1 min) , Take a cold shower (3 min), Meditate (15 min) , Read (15 minutes), Journal (10 min), Exercise (1 hour). Notice that each activity is focused on self … it is important to start the day present, energized, motivated, calm, and ultimately grateful for our bodies.

Use Mel Robbin’s 5 Second Rule

Melanie Robbins is an American lawyer, television host, author, and motivational speaker (not related to Tony Robbins). In her Book, The 5 Second Rule: Transform your Life, Work, and Confidence with Everyday Courage, Melanie explains how her “5-second rule” is very simple: It’s about the moment you’re in a situation where you know what you should do “but you start to hesitate, or excuses start to fill your mind.” Instead, Count backwards from 5-4-3-2-1 and take action! You can use the Rule and its countdown method to break any bad habit, interrupt self-doubt and negative self-talk, and push yourself to take the actions that will change your life.

Incorporate the 5 Second Rule into your morning routine. Whenever you begin to feel doubt, stop yourself and begin the count…3-2-1, and take action! Utilize this new strategy to achieve an amazing day.

Actively Remove Distractions

It is important to eliminate distractions while working because when you’re focused on your daily tasks, you have the opportunity to be more productive and, in turn, have more time to do what you enjoy outside of work. If you can learn to eliminate distractions while working, you can complete your tasks with more attention and in less time. In other words, you will learn to love the process. Here are a few strategies!

Put your phone on Do Not Disturb – Technology is a major source of distractions while people try to complete their work. Mute your phone or completely put it away into another room. Shut off all notifications, and don’t give in to instagram temptations!

Have a plan before you begin – Write down the goals you hope to accomplish, and continue to check them off your to-do list.

Set time limits on your goals – After you’ve created to-list of goals, set aside a certain amount of time for each item on the list depending on the amount of time you think each task will take to complete.

Complete the most challenging tasks early in the day – Consider completing the tasks that will take the most effort at beginning of your workday.
