Ana Ramos is the Founder and President, Amida Wealth Advisors
Introduction
At Amida Wealth Advisors, wealth is more than numbers on a spreadsheet — it’s a reflection of who you are and how you live. Founded by Ana Ramos, Amida invites clients to transform their vision of wealth — to see money not as a measure of success, but as a mirror of harmony across life’s essential pillars: health, relationships, finances, career, and personal growth.
In this conversation, Ana shares the philosophy behind Amida, how the firm is reshaping the wealth management experience, and why clarity, calm, and confidence are the true currencies of a meaningful life.
1. When you say, “Transform your vision of wealth,” what are you inviting people to transform?
When I invite people to transform their vision of wealth, I’m inviting them to look beyond the traditional definition — the one that equates wealth solely with money and investments.
Financial success is important, of course; it gives us the ability to pursue our goals and create meaningful experiences. But true wealth isn’t defined by accumulation — it’s defined by how we live.
At Amida, we see wealth as something that touches every part of life. It’s how we experience our Five Pillars of Wealth: health, career, finances, relationships, and personal growth. When you begin to explore each of these areas — how you see them, nurture them, and live them — that’s when transformation happens. Because wealth isn’t just what you have. It’s how you feel, how you grow, and how you show up in your everyday life.
2. Wealth is often seen as purely financial. At Amida, you’ve redefined it to include clarity, calm, and confidence. What do those three words mean to you — and how do they show up in the lives of your clients?
I love that you mentioned clarity, calm, and confidence — because those are truly at the heart of what we help people cultivate at Amida.
Those qualities begin to emerge when someone understands the value of money in their life — not just its function. When you take the time to explore your values, your non-negotiables, and your goals, you start to see how money supports who you are, rather than defines you.
Clarity comes from knowing what you stand for.
Calm follows when your financial choices align with those values.
And confidence grows when you can see both the bigger picture — that 30,000-foot view — and still remain fully present in your everyday life.
When clients reach that place, wealth becomes less about control and more about connection — a reflection of who they are and what they want to experience in this world.
3. You often speak about the ‘Five Pillars of Wealth.’ How did that framework come to life, and how does it shift the conversation from “What do you have?” to “Who are you becoming?”
The Five Pillars of Wealth grew out of my early work in stress mastery training. I learned how different areas of our lives — health, relationships, career, finances, and personal growth — affect our overall sense of balance. But I also realized that money plays a profound role in our nervous system. It shapes how safe we feel, how we make decisions, and how we experience both expansion and stress.
As I listened to clients over the years — their stories, their body language, their emotions — I began to see that wealth wasn’t just about financial outcomes; it was about how people felt in each area of life. That’s when the framework truly came to life.
We live in a society that often defines success by what you own. But when you begin to ask deeper questions — How did you get there? What did it take? What did you have to let go of? — you uncover who you’re becoming in the process.
I often think back to a child I once cared for who always asked “But why?” again and again, with pure curiosity. That innocence taught me something important: transformation begins when we keep asking “why” — about our choices, our patterns, our desires. Because wealth isn’t about what we collect. It’s about who we’re becoming as we live and grow in alignment with what truly matters.
4. The financial industry can sometimes feel intimidating or transactional. What inspired you to create a space that feels more human, reflective, and rooted in harmony?
It really comes from observing how disconnected we’ve become — not just from one another, but from ourselves.
In the financial world, so much has become transactional. We remove emotion to make things efficient, but in doing so, we lose connection — to our values, to our why, to the deeper meaning behind money. I wanted to change that.
To me, being in this profession is about humility and service. It’s not about selling products or proving expertise. It’s about being a teacher — guiding others to understand money as energy and a tool for alignment. When we bring compassion and presence into that space, people begin to feel safe again — safe to reconnect with their own story.
That comes from my upbringing. My mother had this extraordinary ability to make life feel abundant even when we had little. She turned small moments into celebrations. She taught me that wealth isn’t about how much you have; it’s about how you make what you have feel.
That’s the foundation of Amida — to remind people that their financial life can be just as meaningful and human as every other part of who they are.
5. “Transform your vision of wealth” feels like both a philosophy and a promise. How has your own vision of wealth evolved over time — and what moments shaped that evolution?
Yes — “Transform your vision of wealth” is both a philosophy and a promise.
It speaks to something deeply human: our desire to belong to something greater than ourselves, to live with purpose, and to evolve.
For me, it begins with the belief that transformation is always possible. We can reshape how we see the world, how we experience money, and how we define wealth. That belief creates aspiration — it invites us to imagine something better.
And it’s also a promise — that when you begin to see wealth through a new lens, when you create space for that vision to take root, your life does begin to shift.
I often compare it to reading a book versus watching the movie version. Our imagination — our personal vision — is always richer and more alive. That’s what this philosophy invites: for each person to imagine their own version of abundance, and to take the small, aligned steps that bring it to life.
Because when you clear space — mentally, emotionally, spiritually — transformation stops being something you chase. It becomes something that happens naturally, as you step into who you’re meant to be.
6. Amida was born in an industry ready for change. What changes do you believe are most needed right now in wealth management, and how is Amida leading that transformation?
Wealth management has long been portrayed through extremes — the “Wolf of Wall Street” image on one side, and the “Pursuit of Happyness” story on the other. Between those two lies real life — the human experience.
The industry became too focused on image: advisors showcasing luxury rather than connection or integrity. I wanted to create something different — something human.
At Amida, we believe advisors should be guides, not salespeople. True advisors understand the soul of the person they serve. They ask deeper questions — about values, emotions, and beliefs — because wealth isn’t just about what you own; it’s about what brings you peace and meaning.
My own journey taught me that transformation starts with humility. Everyone has their own rhythm, their own path. When we let go of judgment and meet people where they are, we open space for real growth.
For me, wealth today feels simple — cooking fresh food, walking my dog, sharing time with family, enjoying meaningful conversation. That’s a wealthy life.
My hope is that one day, our industry will reflect that truth — that money should serve life, not the other way around.
7. You often describe money as “energy in motion.” How does that idea change the way people approach financial planning and decision-making?
Money has always been about exchange — energy flowing between people, ideas, and intentions. We work, create, and contribute; in return, we receive. Then we use that money to meet needs, support others, or express our dreams.
When you begin to see money this way, it stops being something to control and becomes something to collaborate with.
In financial planning, this shifts everything. It helps people focus less on rigidity and more on relationship — to see money not as a measure of worth, but as a reflection of where their energy is going. Allocating money with intention is really about directing energy toward what matters most.
It also calls for kindness. We’re often hard on ourselves for financial choices we’ve made, but every decision is part of the learning process. When money is seen as energy, mistakes become feedback — not failures.
Ultimately, financial planning becomes an act of presence. It’s about staying aligned with your values and letting money flow in harmony with your life. When that happens, it doesn’t just support you — it energizes you.
8. Many clients come to Amida at moments of transition — career shifts, family changes, new beginnings. How does your approach help them find peace and direction during those times?
Transitions, even positive ones, are rarely easy. They carry both excitement and uncertainty — the closing of one chapter and the opening of another.
During those moments, people aren’t just looking for financial guidance. They’re looking for connection. They want someone who understands, who listens, who can hold space for their emotions and say, “It’s going to be okay.”
That’s what we do at Amida. We help people find clarity when everything around them feels uncertain. We listen deeply, help them process, and build a plan that feels grounded and achievable.
Early in my career, I met a client going through a divorce. She came in unexpectedly, and I simply listened. She cried, released her fears, and later told me she felt lighter. That experience taught me something lasting: when people feel seen, they don’t forget it.
Our work is about being that steady presence — the rock in the middle of a storm. Because wealth management isn’t really about money; it’s about helping people rediscover peace, direction, and confidence in who they’re becoming.
9. At its core, Amida seems to blend the rational with the emotional — spreadsheets with a soul. How do you and your team balance the technical side of wealth with the human side of wealth-being?
That’s such a beautiful way to describe it — spreadsheets with a soul.
We use technology, including AI, to streamline processes and enhance accuracy, but the human element is what gives meaning to the numbers.
When we meet with clients, we don’t start with charts or statistics. We start with purpose: What is your definition of wealth? What does this goal represent for you? Once we understand the “what and the why”, we can design the “how.”
Our team is incredibly diverse — operational experts, analysts, and traders working together behind the scenes — so clients can focus on their lives while we manage the details.
That’s the balance: clients stay connected to their vision, and we ensure their strategy supports it. It’s structure and soul, precision and empathy — working together in harmony.
10. If someone reading this feels disconnected from their money or uncertain about their future, what would you want them to know about redefining success — and what’s the first step toward that transformation?
If you feel disconnected from your money or uncertain about your future, you’re not alone. Most people don’t say, “I’m disconnected from my money” — they simply avoid what feels overwhelming. But avoidance isn’t failure; it’s a signal to slow down and seek understanding.
Uncertainty often comes from a lack of clarity. And clarity begins when you look at your life with compassion, not criticism.
At Amida, our role is to bring calm to the chaos — even if it’s just a brief conversation that helps you breathe and see things more clearly. The first step isn’t about fixing everything; it’s about creating space for awareness and possibility.
I’ve redefined success many times in my life. We all have the ability to begin again. Success isn’t about reaching a single destination — it’s about returning to yourself, again and again, as you evolve.
That’s why Amida meets people exactly where they are. Whether you’re just starting, rebuilding, or planning your legacy, we’re here to guide you toward harmony — with money, with life, and with yourself.
Because transformation doesn’t start with having it all figured out. It starts with saying yes to the possibility of something more aligned, more peaceful, and more you.
Closing Reflection
Through every story Ana shares, one truth shines through: wealth is not a finish line — it’s a feeling.
It’s the calm in knowing your money serves your life, not the other way around.
It’s the clarity that comes from living in alignment with your values.
And it’s the confidence that grows when you realize — true abundance begins within.
