Dear 22-Year-Old Me,
You’re so eager to build something meaningful. You want success, fulfillment, freedom—you want to get it right. And I love that about you. But if I could sit across from you today, sipping coffee or tea in a quiet moment between the striving and the dreaming, here’s what I would share:
You don’t need to have it all figured out right now. In fact, you won’t. Life unfolds in seasons, not checklists. And the idea that you must choose between making money and living with purpose? That’s a myth I want you to release early. The truth is, wealth and purpose can grow together—when you align your career with your values and define success on your own terms.
Let’s talk about finances. At 22, you think wealth is about accumulation. But real wealth—the kind that sustains you and nourishes those you love—is about alignment. Money is not the goal. It’s the tool. Use it wisely, intentionally, and generously. Learn to allocate, not restrict. Understand what’s essential to you, and build from there. Financial confidence isn’t born from having more; it’s born from knowing why you want what you want.
Your career? It’s not a straight line. Don’t be afraid to evolve. The job you take today won’t define you—it will shape you. And each chapter, even the ones that don’t feel glamorous, will teach you something essential about who you are. Ask yourself often: Am I growing? Am I contributing? Am I staying curious? The answers to those questions will guide you far more than any title ever will.
And always remember—never compromise your ethics. That’s been one of my greatest guiding forces. The moment someone asks you to cross that line, the road ends there. It’s not about judging the other person—it’s about staying true to yourself. Know what you stand for, and honor it. Everything else will fall into place.
When it comes to relationships, don’t underestimate the wealth of being truly seen, supported, and celebrated. Surround yourself with people who help you grow—and be that person for others, too. The connections you nurture in your life will hold more meaning than any metric of success. Don’t just build a network—build a community.
And here’s something else: people will come into your life for a season, a reason, or a lifetime. Learn to accept them for what they are—and when it’s time to let go, do so with love. Let them go with gratitude for the role they played, no matter how it felt at the time. Whether it brought joy or pain, there’s a lesson in all of it. And to truly love someone is to love them unselfishly, without trying to change them. We each walk our own path, shaped by our unique experiences, whether from this lifetime or others—whatever your belief may be. Love people where they are in their journey. And when it’s time to release, release with compassion.
Prioritize your health—body, mind, and spirit. It’s the foundation that supports every other form of wealth. Sleep. Breathe. Move your body. Nourish yourself. You cannot pour from an empty cup, no matter how ambitious or well-intentioned you are. What you’ll eventually learn is that energy—not time—is your most valuable resource.
And finally, never stop investing in your personal growth. Read. Reflect. Be willing to let go of what no longer fits. Don’t be afraid to change your mind as you learn more about the world—and about yourself. Transformation isn’t something that happens once—it’s a lifelong invitation. Stay curious, and keep saying yes to the unknown.
Looking back now, I can tell you this with love: You are exactly where you need to be. Keep going with courage, curiosity, and grace.
With deep gratitude,
Ana
