The Healing Power Of Money With Amida Wealth
As we enter into April, Amida celebrates Love, Nurture & Care all month long in honor of Mother’s Day. In society today, we tend to separate money, health, relationships – yet, everything flows with each other and cannot be truly separated. Just like we care for the mother figures in our lives, whether this be; a mother, mentor, neighbor, or financial advisor– the same care goes towards our finances. Just as all relationships have their ebs & flows, so does our financial journey. All relationships require time, energy, effort, and patience… this also holds true for the relationship we have towards money and our wealth journey. Perhaps, you’ve heard the quote “How you do anything is how you do everything.” Everything is connected! Lastly, just as motherly figures provide nurturing and healing. Perhaps, so can our journey to wealth. Entering into the season of Love & Care, Amida would like to share the Healing Power of Money!
Money Is Not Greed
First and foremost, we must eradicate the notion that money is greed. Money is often associated with greed because of the way it has been portrayed in popular media. In many movies, TV shows, and books, wealthy people are often depicted as greedy, selfish, and unethical. This has created a cultural narrative that equates wealth with negative qualities, such as greed and corruption. Additionally, there is a tendency in society to view money as a finite resource, and that the accumulation of wealth by one individual or group must come at the expense of others. This can create a scarcity mindset.
Above all, It is not inherently good or bad – it is simply a tool. As we learn to become more comfortable with this tool in our lives, we recognize the flow! Remember, wealth is a mindset.
Money Is A Spiritual Practice
Part of our spiritual inquiry into money requires being honest about what it means to us, how we act around it, and what we value. Therefore, becoming more mindful and intentional with our money can be a powerful way to align our financial decisions with our goals and aspirations. Here are some ways that money can be a spiritual practice:
- Mindful spending: By being mindful of our spending habits, we can align our spending with our values and priorities.
- Generosity: Giving back to others is a powerful way to cultivate compassion, empathy, and gratitude. This can include charitable donations, volunteering, or simply helping others in our daily lives.
- Abundance mindset: Our beliefs and attitudes about money can shape our experience of financial abundance Focus on what we have rather than what we lack, and attract more opportunities for financial growth and prosperity!
- Money as energy: Money is a form of energy that can be used to manifest our intentions and desires. Set clear financial goals and visualize your success!
Above all, money can be a powerful tool for spiritual growth and self-discovery when approached with intention and mindfulness.

Through personal stories and practical advice, Lynne Twist asks us to discover our relationship with money, understand how we use it, and by assessing our core human values, align our relationship with it to our desired goals.
The Root Chakra & Money
The root chakra, also known as the Muladhara chakra, is associated with the feeling of safety, security, and stability. It is located at the base of the spine and is often represented by the color red. This is the energy center located around the perineum and down into the legs and feet. It has to do with our sense of security, home, safety, and money! Take a moment to notice how it feels in your body to think the following questions:
- What happens in my body when I think about money?
- If I imagine myself completely supported in terms of money, what changes in my body?
- What sensations do I feel when I think about my bank account?
- What feelings arise when I discuss finances with my family, spouse, and/or friends?
Ways To Balance The Root Chakra
Working on balancing the root chakra through yoga, meditation, and grounding exercises can be beneficial for overall well-being, and financial health. By focusing on creating a sense of safety and security within oneself, it can help to reduce stress and anxiety around money, and promote a more positive and abundant mindset.
Here are some ways to balance and activate your root chakra:
- Practice grounding techniques: Grounding techniques such as walking barefoot on the grass, sitting or standing with your feet rooted to the ground, or gardening can help you feel connected to the earth and promote a sense of stability and security.
- Yoga and meditation: Certain yoga poses, such as the Tree pose (Vrikshasana) and the Mountain pose (Tadasana), can help activate the root chakra. Meditation practices such as focused breathing or visualization can also help balance the root chakra.
- Use affirmations: Using affirmations that focus on stability and security can help shift your mindset and promote a sense of grounding. For example, you might repeat to yourself, “I am safe and secure,” or “I trust in the stability of the universe.”
To balance the root chakra is an ongoing process. Incorporate these practices into your daily routine, you can cultivate a stronger sense of balance and harmony.
